Dear Resident, This week has been a busy one. We have took part on both the end of Mischief week, which saw our officers and PCSOs taking part in activity around Bonfire night and the following days. This then led into Safer Business Action (SaBa) week which saw the team conducting patrols around retail premises targeted by issues such as ASB, Shoplifting and other issues. Members of the team interacted with business of all different sizes from large retailers to independent shops across our areas. On Sunday officers conducted arrest attempts at a number of addresses for outstanding offenders for crime reports. As a result of these arrest attempts One female was arrested for shoplifting offence and failing to appear to court. The officers attended the address and had to force entry where they found the female hiding in a cupboard.
Earlier in the week one of our officers came across two males attempting to get into clothing donation boxes. The officer spoke to the males and was able to identify one of the males as wanted for burglary offences. The male was arrested. Officers on the team have been out conducting housing visits in conjunction with a local housing provider. They were also joined by Coventry MP Taiwo Owatemi. Visit were conducted to locations experiencing ASB issues among other things. This week has seen two stolen/cloned vehicles located by PCSOs. This Audi was recovered after being identified as a clone. The vehicle has been used in crime by way of high value theft of goods. The other stolen vehicle was a Suzuki that the owner had reported stolen however the officers located the vehicle still parked on the same road just in a different place to where the person thought they had parked it.
Its also been a good week for vehicle seizures this week too. A total of 5 vehicles were seized this week. Here are some of the vehicles below. This Vauxhall Astra was seized for no insurance. The driver was stopped by officers, and the vehicle was recovered. This Ford Transit had no Insurance or Tax and was seized by officers. The Volkswagen Polo below was seized by officers whilst they were on visits with housing officers and the local MP Another Volkswagen Polo was seized for no Tax after being found in the corner of a small residential road. Vehicles require valid road tax to be on the road. This Seat was seized by officers after they stopped it and it transpired that the person driving was not insured, a provisional licence holder and they were being supervised by another provisional licence holder.
Finally on Tuesday evening officers on plain clothes patrols stopped a male on this electric motorcycle. The male initially ran from the bike but was stopped. The male was searched and found to be in possession of cannabis. The bike was seized and taken away by our recovery agent. ![]()
